The French Cultural Centre in conjuction with the Italian Cultural Centre opened a one-man classic still-life exhibition by Salvatore Zito who has been flown all the way from Turin in Italy. Salvatore in his painting is greatly influenced by the old technics of artists like Caravaggio.
Zito began by visiting different art museums and studying the technics of the long dead great Italian artists Then he decided to develop his own way of looking at still life, but with the influence of Caravaggio on the back of his mind.
What he really does is to draw of fruits, which he places in a basket or container on a table-top. He takes keen interest on what he paints and the end results is a very detailed piece of paiting with all the natural shades and light. Infact, unlike other paintings, light comes from within the painting rather than from outside the painting.
